Registration: Everyone may view and browse our auctions. In order to participate and bid, you must be a registered bidder. Registration requires you provide us with your name, address, email address, phone number, and valid credit card number. By registering and/or bidding, you are entering into a legal contract and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of this auction. We reserve the right to cancel any bids and bidder accounts for any reason.

Buyer’s Premium: A 20% Buyer’s Premium will be added to the final hammer price of each lot.

Sales Tax: Sales tax in the amount of 7% will be added to the total purchase price of all lots delivered in the state of Utah.

Shipping and Insurance: Art of Rock does not profit on shipping and insurance. These costs will be added to your invoice and are the responsibility of the winning bidder.

Payment: Payment in U.S. Dollars is due within 7 days of receipt of your invoice. Straight Bidding- Straight bids will be accepted at the precise increments shown above. If you are outbid, you will be notified by email and required to manually enter a new, higher bid, if you choose to do so.

Outbid Notices: We cannot guarantee the timely delivery of outbid notices by email and strongly recommend that bidders follow the status of their bids in “real time” on their account pages.

Secret Max Bidding- Our platform allows bidders to enter a secret “Max Bid” that will not be disclosed to other bidders. By entering a secret “Max Bid”, the platform will bid on your behalf, and will only bid as much as necessary to win the lot. If bidding exceeds your secret “Max Bid”, you will be notified and given the opportunity to enter a new bid. Most bidders find this to be the most efficient and convenient way to participate in our auctions.

How Our Auctions Close: Each lot has a listed closing time. If a bid is received on a lot within 10 minutes of it’s scheduled closing time, the closing time of that specific lot will be extended for an additional 10 minutes from the time that late bid was received. This extended bidding feature eliminates the ability for a bidder to “snipe” a lot by entering a winning bid just seconds before it closes.

CGC Grading Scale: Whenever possible we auction items that have been independently authenticated and graded by CGC, the world’s largest independent grading service for collectibles. CGC employs a 1-10 point grading scale as follows:

In addition, CGC uses several different colors of labels to denote different things:

Blue – Universal

This label is applied to posters and handbills that are simply the grade as marked, with no qualifiers or special considerations.

Yellow – Signature Series

This label is applied to posters or handbills that have been signed by someone of significance to the piece, under the direct observation of a CGC representative, and are thus certified as an authentic signature by CGC.

Purple – Restored

This label is applied to any item that has evidence of repair so that it will appear as it did when it was in its original condition. Restoration can come in a variety of degrees, from slight professional restoration (SP) to extensive amateur restoration (EA). The degree of restoration is noted using a code that can be found here: CGC Restoration Scale

Blue/Purple – Conserved

This label is applied to any item with specific repairs done to improve the structural integrity and long-term preservation. These repairs include tear seals, support, piece reattachment and certain kinds of cleaning.

AOR Grading Scale: Unfortunately, CGC does not authenticate and grade all vintage concert posters. When CGC grading is unavailable, we do our best to approximate what we believe CGC would grade the item. These items will be graded with an AOR Grade designation. Grading is an art, not a science, and grading opinions can and will defer amongst experts. We do not guarantee that CGC will agree with our opinion, if it becomes possible to submit the item to CGC at a later date.

Return Policy: This auction is not an approval sale, all sales are final. If an item is improperly described or damaged in shipping, you may return the item within 7 days of receipt.

Disclaimer: In an attempt to best educate our bidders, AOR sometimes provides previous sales data and information that we believe would be of interest and value. This information is provided on a best effort basis and we cannot guarantee it’s completeness or accuracy.
