It is fitting that this poster was created for a series of three Cream concerts at The Grande Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan June 7-9, 1968. Concerts from the Grande Ballroom are the most sought after series outside of San Francisco and for good reason.
The Grande scene was imported by promoter Russ Gibb, who wanted to plant the seeds of the counter culture movement in the midwest. Gibb's idea was a massive success and The Grande was a mind-blowing venue...in all respects!
Just 500 posters were created for this show with NO REPRINTS. It was created by Gary Grimshaw, whose work is widely considered to be in the same league as "The Big Five".
